Rod Davies
Like so many young musicians, Rod’s early days were spent in rock band while studying for a Psychology degree at University. After graduation, opportunities opened up and things started falling into place for a career in Music.
Rod has toured and recorded with Australian pop icons such as John Farnham, Tina Arena, Olivia Newton-John and Mark Seymour (Hunters & Collectors).
He’s played roles in a number of Music Theatre productions, and as a session vocalist, had a successful career, on hit Australian TV shows such as “Hey Hey it’s Saturday”, “In Melbourne Tonight”, “It Takes Two” and the hugely popular “Dancing with the Stars”, now in it’s 10th season.
In 2003 and 2005, Rod released two original albums “Beautiful Scars” and “Turn the TV On”.
These balladic, pop/rock songs were soon noticed in ‘far away’ Europe. This eventually gave rise to his ever growing songwriting career.
Many people have heard the voice but don’t know either the face or the name.
Through TV, radio, and countless studio recordings, Rod’s vocal abilities have been on display for nearly 20 years. Rod was an experienced live performer before finding his place in the recording studio, where he has made his mark on the Music and Entertainment Scenes and become one of Australia's most sought after session vocalists.
He has recorded with many of Australian great performers such as John Farnham, Tina Arena, Olivia Newton-John and Mark Seymour (Hunters & Collectors) and is currently, the singing voice for Australia's long running TV smash hit “Dancing with the Stars”.
